How big is the bottom opening on the MF30 chute in the hopper. Not the top but where the debris goes into the shredder.
The bottom opening on the MF30 top chute measures 230x110mm. Approximately 9.06x4.33 inches.

For the MF30. my main need is leaves but do have chipper needs. Can you just use the hopper for leaves or is it best to use the vacuum? Does the EF30 mini do leaves. I have numerous maple, ash, oak , hickory trees and have a ton of leaves.
Both the vacuum and the top hopper of the MF30 are capable of shredding leaves. The top hopper allows for manual feeding of leaves, and it can accommodate a larger volume of leaves with a maximum diameter of 1/2 inch. The vacuum feature, which requires a separate vacuum tube (sold separately), is designed to automatically collect leaves by sucking them in. However, it may have a somewhat lower capacity compared to the top hopper. While the C30 mini can handle various shredding tasks, it's not suitable for handling leaves alone.
